You know that saying the birds and the bee's? parents only?

ok i have been wanting to know this for like forever. how can you talk about the birds and the bee's to your kids? i asked my dad about this and he laughed at me and said i was the biggest blonde out there? what really does it mean?

how can a bird and a bee to that? the bird would eat the bee or the bee would sting the bird you know???

not trying to be funny i just really do not get that lol thanks for your helpYou know that saying the birds and the bee's? parents only?
Sayings aren't always the literal meaning. When someone says ';it's the bee's knees';. They mean it's great, not some knees belonging to a bee.

When someone says ';it's the best thing since sliced bread', they don't mean it literally, they are using hyperbole.

Just accept that it is what it is, and it means what it means. You know that saying the birds and the bee's? parents only?
Well here is what I know, birds fly around and then sit on telephone wires , pooping on anything below them, Also they poop on windows with in 5 minutes of cleaning them.

Bees make honey.

Now if there is anything other then that you will have to wait for parents to give you that talk.
I don't think anyone ever meant to imply that the birds and the bees were at it with each other. Maybe reproductive processes were associated with spring, when insects and birds are becoming more active and visible. I am not a big Wikipedia fan, but the article there is informative: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_birds_a鈥?/a>
